Paperless Model Training

Course Objectives

  • To enable suppliers to comply with Nissan techniques & quality requirements.
  • Implications of non-compliance with Nissans Paperless model and release procedures.

Course Content

  • Introduction to the Nissan Paperless Model
    • Understand the Data Management changes and differences between S-Lot and V-3P
  • When is a part/assembly an “official” part/assembly
  • Good Data Management
    • Changing parts or assemblies to release parts or assemblies
  • What’s new in V-3P – Colour Variants for DMDR’s (Digital Mock-Up Design Review)
    • Understand how during the Digital Phase - Digital Lot Design Reviews will be performed. For G2B programs the part numbers required for a digital build must be represented within CAD (TCE).
  • CAD Data
    • Vehicle Template – location for CAD Data
    • DIFF Assemblies
    • DIFF Assembly conventions
  • Calculated Weight Attributes
    • Nissan requests suppliers and Nissan engineers to input the calculated weight of a part or assembly within the I-DEAS environment. During a full V-3P program, TCP will be configured to check all data for the calculated weight attribute.
  • PDQ-NP (Product Data Quality – Nissan Package)
    • Applying the PDQ-NP flag to parts
  • Introduction to Nissan Paperless Model – Production Release Phase
    • What is the Paperless process – difference between Paper and Paperless
  • What is the SHAPE Number?
    • Understand what is contained in a SHAPE Release
  • Relationship between change history and model views (CAD & Data Notes)
    • How to show history modifications between CAD and Data Notes
  • Part Block and Part Specification (Data Notes)
    • Adding Part Block and Part Specification information onto Data Notes
  • SHAPE Assembly number convention
  • Purchased in Assembly number convention (PIA)
  • Supplemental Drawings
    • In cases where information cannot be conveyed through the 3D CAD model or the Excel Data Note, an I-DEAS 2D Supplemental Drawing can also be released. Supplemental Drawings are required to show certain part information.
  • V-3P Part Number conventions
    • Understand the NEW TCE Part Number conventions
  • Annotating Parts
    • Paperless Release requires 3D, annotated, CAD data for Production Release
  • CAD Data Release requirements
    • Reference Geometry/Curves
    • Hole Centres
    • Applying Co-Ordinate Systems
    • Model Views
      • Model Views are added to the part/assembly at its serviceable item level i.e. Nissan named & numbered – NOT _PIA parts
  • Data Integrity
    • Complete Update
    • Volume Check
    • Shell Check
    • Surface Labels
    • Tolerance and Part Clean
    • Free Edge Check
    • Assembly Configurations
    • Assembly Reflect
    • PDQ-NP
  • Exporting User Attributes
  • SHAPE Assemblies and Common Data
