We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to provide pre-sales technical support to our Network Appliance Sales Account Managers and Customers covering all of the Netapp family of storage products. This role includes pre-sales calls to prospective clients, participation in regional seminars, and technical account management for existing customers.

This position will require the Systems Engineer to work with the Sales Account Manager to formulate account strategies.

It is essential that the Systems Engineer stays abreast of current industry technology, trends, and competition and can communicate this knowledge and information effectively to customers and prospects round table discussions as well as to audience’s at large seminars.

Naturally, some travel will be required and the Systems Engineer must be self-motivated and able to work well with multiple Sales Account Managers whilst being creative in obtaining information and solving problems.

Technical Skill Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• The ability to talk about technical subjects and deliver technical presentation to a wide array of audiences with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• The ability to impart clearly and effectively this knowledge to an inexperienced customer.
• The desire to learn new technologies and enjoy undertaking “hands-on” work with NetApp technology and other relevant technologies.
• The possession of personal traits like excellent inter-personal skills, high energy, flexibility, self motivation, trustworthiness and dependable and possesses excellent follow through skills.
• Knowledge of various operating systems including Linux, UNIX (AIX, SUN) and Windows from a Systems Administrator perspective.
• Knowledge and experience in working with storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FCP & iSCSI plus experience with Software Products such as Veritas, Oracle, Exchange, SQL, & Clearcase

Educational Requirements:

• University Degree in Computing Subject
• 3 years of experience in industry

The successful applicant can be home based anywhere from Manchester Southwards but will be expected to travel to the company HQ in Brentwood approximately once a month.
