*Not publicly disclosed*
Midlands contractor G F Tomlinson needed to demonstrate their ability to comply with Department for Education (DfE) BIM requirements to be successfully appointed to the Polesworth School “Bramcote Building” project.
Once appointed, the project team needed the expertise onboard to manage all key related BIM tasks to provide a fully coordinated Asset Information Model (AIM) to the client at handover.
Solution: Majenta’s BIM Information Management service.
Majenta initially advised G F Tomlinson’s bid team on responding to DfE’s BIM requirements. The scope of delivery for Majenta’s BIM Information Manager role was then agreed to include:
Majenta provided support and 1-to-1 training for project teams and ensured that all involved understood the BIM process through to handover.
The BIM project deliverables were handed over on schedule, in line with project expectations, and the DfE is on target to receive a fully compliant Asset Information Model.
Multiple issues – including structural steel and MEP equipment clashing in the design – were resolved in advance by Majenta’s clash detection services, enabling a right-first-time build.
G F Tomlinson is now in a strong position to win future works on DfE frameworks, with support available from Majenta.
