Project Context
Henkel, a leading German Tier 1 supplier to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), specialises in body-in-white (BIW) manufacturing, predominantly employing a "made to print" approach using Catia V5 as their primary CAD system.
Although highly proficient in their core manufacturing processes, Henkel recognised the potential challenges associated with expanding their JLR contracts, particularly the complexities of integrating with JLR's proprietary PLM system. Direct interaction with the PLM system presented a significant learning curve and potential resource drain for Henkel, diverting valuable engineering time away from their core manufacturing activities.
Access to the latest design data was paramount for Henkel to meet project deadlines and maintain a competitive edge — while maintaining a clear and comprehensive audit trail of design changes and revisions for quality control and compliance.
