Project context

Grammer AG, a German supplier of headrests and armrests for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), faced significant challenges integrating their parts into JLR's 3DX system. Grammer's part numbering system did not directly map to JLR's, requiring complex data mapping and bespoke workflows.

JLR's 3DX system lacked native support for differing part numbers, which created a need for manual intervention to manage the release of Grammer's parts. Continuous updates to 3DX further complicated the process, requiring regular adjustments to these workflows. Ensuring all necessary data was available for release milestones, particularly for safety-critical components like headrests, was challenging — demanding resource-heavy collaboration between Grammer and JLR engineers.

Majenta developed a targeted solution to address these integration challenges.

Tailored CAD workflows — Majenta created custom CAD workflows to seamlessly map Grammer's part numbers to JLR's system, ensuring compliance with JLR's requirements and eliminating the need for complex manual intervention.

Proactive PLM support — We provided ongoing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) support to adapt 3DX workflows as needed, accommodating system updates while maintaining data accuracy and readiness for release.

Collaborative workshops — Majenta facilitated regular workshops with both Grammer and JLR teams to align processes, foster clearer communication, and ensure consistent achievement of project milestones.

Engaging Majenta resulted in several key improvements — delivering substantial value to both Grammer and JLR.

Implementing bespoke solutions tailored to the specific challenges faced by Grammer enabled them to successfully meet all their contractual obligations with JLR, achieving a 100% success rate in meeting project milestones without costly delays. The improved part number mapping and streamlined data management processes led to smoother, more efficient workflows throughout the product development lifecycle.

This enhanced efficiency enabled JLR to confidently continue their programme development without concerns about potential part release delays, fostering a stronger sense of trust and reliability in the supply chain.

The successful project delivery and ongoing collaborative partnership solidified Grammer's position as a trusted and reliable supplier for JLR, opening doors to further sourcing opportunities and strengthening their long-term business relationship.

This success underscores the value of Majenta's expertise in navigating complex integration challenges and delivering effective solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
