Bridging the Data Gap — By-Pass Solution for Standard Profil

Standard Profil, already using Siemens NX as their native CAD system, sought a cost-effective alternative to installing the full NSTK suite (NX/Teamcenter/Oracle). However, working without Nissan's Teamcenter system, with its unique part numbering conventions, presented further obstacles. They faced significant challenges sending and receiving data to and from Nissan due to system incompatibilities and complex part number mapping requirements. However, achieving full compliance with Nissan's strict modelling practices (Paperless Model) would ideally require a costly NSTK installation, creating a dilemma for Standard Profil’s leadership.

NSTK integration

Majenta imported Standard Profil’s native NX CAD data into its own NSTK Teamcenter environment.

Bespoke workflows

We developed bespoke Excel-based workflows to map Standard Profil’s part numbers to Nissan’s system, ensuring compliance.

Data enhancement

Our team updated and added CAD data PMI (Product Data Information), annotation, PDM attributes, and performed data checks.

G2B and PDS support

We processed G2B applications, completed Spec Tender replies, and created PDS (Proposal Data Submission) forms.

Data upload to Teamcenter

Majenta uploaded the processed CAD data, supporting documentation, and drawings to Nissan's Teamcenter P3 system on the supplier’s behalf.

By leveraging Majenta's By-Pass service, Standard Profil significantly reduced data transfer lead times and achieved near-perfect compliance with Nissan's stringent data requirements. The automated workflows drastically reduced manual data handling, freeing up Standard Profil's resources.

The ability to receive Nissan CAD data via Majenta enabled Standard Profil to effectively review designs and propose changes, strengthening their collaborative relationship with Nissan. This efficient and cost-effective solution allowed Standard Profil to meet its project milestones without the overhead of a full NSTK installation.

Ultimately, our solution delivered a “best of both worlds” scenario for Standard Profil, allowing them to avoid the expense of installing and running the full NSTK suite, while benefiting from streamlined and compliant data transfer, using Majenta as a bridge.
